Preamble:
The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) held her 194th NEC meeting at the APIN Conference Hall of the Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi between 5th and 8th May, 2016
The meeting was preceded by courtesy calls on key stakeholders in the health sector. First, the Commissioner for Health and Human Resources was visited followed by the Chief Medical Directors of Benue State University Teaching Hospital and Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi.
AMLSN Gombe Branch holds groundbreaking Investiture Ceremony for the 6th Set of Elected Executives.
The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), Gombe branch performed an Investiture ceremony for the 6th set of elected executives.
The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) received with sadness and shock, the unfortunate news of the collapse of a church building in Uyo- Akwa Ibom State with several lives reported to have been lost and many others sustaining varying degrees of injuries.

The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) was worried on the reemergence of Lassa fever in Nigeria after the last outbreak in 2012 which also claimed many lives.

BACKGROUND: In November, 2010, Niger State had the privilege of hosting the 177th NEC meeting of our Association. That was under the leadership of the then hard working, reliable and astute Medical Lab Scientist Mr Isiaka Olawepo Ganiyu as the then branch chairman. I was the National Secretary of our Association then. Going through the memory lane, the hosting of that NEC meeting by Niger state branch of our association, was extraordinarily successful! It was therefore, not surprising that this time around, the national body of AMLSN did not only approve the hosting of the 189th NEC meeting, it also graciously permit the branch to host both the Public health Lecture and the NEC meeting.

GUIDELINE FOR THE ELECTION OF BRANCH EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF THE ASSOCIATION OF MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTISTS OF NIGERIA (AMLSN) FCT – ABUJA BRANCH.
In exercise of the powers conferred on us by the constitution of the Association of medical laboratory scientists of Nigeria, the Ad-Hoc Electoral Committee hereby issues the following guidelines for the conduct of the elections.
Introduction: I am indeed honoured by this special gathering on this occasion of my investiture as the 12th National President of our great Association today 12/12/2014. This occasion also marks the official inauguration of other newly elected National officers of the Association. This programme no doubt, is the first of its kind in the history of our Association since 1964 though our Association has had eleven (11) past National Presidents and other executive council members.
