Dr. Casmir Ifeanyi (DCI) — the 15th National President of AMLSN, is a renowned Medical Laboratory
Scientist, Public Health policy analyst, and critical thinker, who has significantly contributed to the
advancement of quality healthcare delivery in Nigeria. With extensive expertise in his field, Dr. Ifeanyi has
dedicated his career to making a positive impact on public health.
His research and analytical skills have enabled him to identify key challenges and propose effective
strategies for improving healthcare systems in Nigeria. His contributions have been published in several
reputable journals, and his work serves as a valuable resource for healthcare professionals and
policymakers.
Dr. Casmir Ifeanyi’s dedication and commitment to improving healthcare in Nigeria have established him
as an influential figure in the field, inspiring others to strive for excellence and ensure the delivery of high-
quality healthcare services to all citizens.
He earned his Ph.D., in Microbiology in 2013 from the University of Abuja, Nigeria. He received training in
the application of molecular diagnostic technologies from Institut Pasteur, Tunis, Tunisia, and Istituto
Superiore di Santia, Rome, Italy.
He is a senior member of staff in the Department of Medical Microbiology, Faculty of Clinical Medicine,
Alex Ekwueme Federal University. Ebonyi State. He has published many articles in Thomson Reuter impact
factor journals and received the U.S. Department of State’s Biosecurity Engagement Program (BEP) travel
grant support for training on antimicrobial resistance among bacterial pathogens (Mechanisms, Detection
and Molecular Epidemiology).
His research interest cuts across Clinical Microbiology and Immunology with emphasis on high throughput
microbiome research, genomic epidemiology and vaccinology.
Dr. Ifeanyi lives and works with a simple philosophy of “Work. Play. Do Good.’ This is embodied through a
dedication to exceeding expectations, experiencing the world through the openness and eagerness of a
child’s mind, and empowering others for the greater good of the community. He is happily married, and
blessed with a son and two daughters.
