This test will comprise of new functionalities to be rolled out in the coming weeks. The testing process required by each tester will only be for about between 10 -20 minutes of your time after a successful registration.

ATTENTION: Update on Membership Registration

This is to inform all members who have registered for AMLSN membership but are yet to receive a confirmation mail as at 25th September 2019 to kindly revisit the membership portal to confirm their registration. The above should be done in two steps:

1. Visit the site and try to register again from the membership page https://membership.amlsn.org.ng/profile/personal

If the above is successful, then kindly wait for a response to your application shortly. However, if you get a response that your details has already been registered, proceed to step 2.

2. If your details has already been registered but you are yet to get a confirmation mail, please send a mail to registration@amlsn.org.ng with the details of your registration for further assistance.

The reason the above step is necessary is due to the fact that some of the details submitted during registrations needs to be corrected so these have to be re-entered properly.

AMLSN MEMBERSHIP ONLINE REGISTRATION

In a bid to further strengthen and re-position AMLSN and bring it to international standards, members are invited to register following the link provided below.

Upon successful registration, a unique membership number would be allocated. The number shall therefore serve as identifier for participation in all activities of the Association, e. g. Annual Scientific Conference/General Meeting, Elections, AMLSN Meetings, AMLSN Sponsored CPD, Trainings, etc.

Registration is free but mandatory, we have introduced safety valve to ensure that only Medical Laboratory Scientists are allowed to complete this process.

Call for Expression of Interest for the Provision of Catering Services

The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) is hosting an International Conference on Global Health Security (GHS) in Abuja, Nigeria. The conference is tagged, “Capital City 2019” with the theme “Global Health Security: the Medical Laboratory Agenda for sub-Saharan Africa”.

The conference is scheduled to hold from September 2 – 5, 2019, at the prestigious International Conference Centre (ICC) Abuja, with an estimated five thousand (5000) Medical Laboratory Scientists, Public and Global Health Experts, Pathologists, Agricultural Scientists, Security Experts, Policy Makers, Academia, and Civil Society Organizations.

To this end, the Association is seeking the services of reputable catering organizations with requisite experience, to provide outdoor-catering services to all participants for the duration of the conference.

The required catering service will include but not limited to the following:

  • Provision of high quality catering service at reasonable price (Tea break and Lunch)
  • Provision of high quality dinner at conference Dinner/Award Night on September 5, 2019
  • To professionally mange the demand and logistics of catering for 5,000 conference participants
  • To provide appropriate food variety to meet the dietary preferences of conference participants.

Your rich proposal could form the basis for a contract agreement between your organization and AMLSN for the Conference.

Interested organization should submit expression of interest (EOI) not more than five pages to: amlsn2019@gmail.com  and should include relevant supporting document.

  • Your creative initiative will be an added advantage.

NOTICE OF TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR DIRECTORATE CADRE MLS

This training is targeted at members of AMLSN in directorate cadre in the public/civil service. This training will focus on cross cutting areas in administration that will strengthen the delivery of quality and efficient service as well as enhance appropriate interaction with colleagues and the management of their institutions.

Arrival date: June 10, 2019
Departure date: June 14, 2019
Venue: Abuja.

NB: AMLSN will be responsible for the following expenses
• Accommodation
• Feeding (tea break/lunch)
• Course material
• Resource material

Qualified and Selected participants will be responsible for their own transportation.

AMLSN 2019 Call for Authors/Reviewers

AMLSN eLearning implementing team is calling for applications from subject experts for appointment as authors/reviewers for Year 2019 courses in the following topics:

• Epigenetic Basis and Laboratory Diagnosis of Disease
• Criminal evidence and Procedure
• Immunology of Infectious Disease
Automation and Instrumentation in Medical Laboratory Science Practice
• Clients Satisfaction as quality indicator in Medical Laboratory Services

 

Requirements:

• Minimum of HND/Bsc/BMLS., MSc./Professional Qualification (AMLSN, FMLSCN etc); a PhD is an advantage but not required
• Demonstrable excellence in area of specialization
• Experience in delivering training for adults in resource constrained environments
• Experience in developing competency based curriculum or eLearning courses
• Experience in conducting and synthesizing research
• Available to attend a 2-3 days course training
• Ability to devote a minimum of two hours per week to course development until published
• Experience in using IT, Graphics/Multimedia tools and social media
• Must be in good financial standing with the Association (for MLS)

Mode of Application

1. Cover letter indicating interest in one of the topics above.
2. A brief description of understanding of your chosen topic.
3. At least three learning objectives to be achieved in undertaking the course.
